The airport at Queenstown is surrounded by mountainous terrain, with a 1780m runway: wide-body aircraft (ie: anything larger than a B753/A321) are not suitable for use at this airport.

A skeleton crew will be staffing Christchurch (NZCH) as an alternative to Queenstown for pilots wishing to operate larger aircraft during Waves 2 & 3.

Notes

Queenstown Airport does not operate after dark and has no approach lead-in lighting; all pilots should ensure that they have the correct (daylight) time set in their sims.

Due to the possibility of arrival holds at Queenstown, pilots should ensure they load additional holding fuel for this flight.

Low Fuel will not entitle pilots to priority sequencing during this event.
