Aircraft Type Limitations

Rotorua is not large enough to support aircraft larger than B737/A320.

A skeleton crew will be staffing Auckland (NZAA) as an alternative to Rotorua for pilots wishing to operate larger aircraft during Waves 2 & 3.

NOTE: Only fly this route if you are unable to fly the main Rotorua route; the focus of ATC activity will be at Rotorua during this wave.

Airport Briefing Information:
Final Briefing - Auckland
Sat 10 Dec 2016 04:41 UTC

The final forecasts for Auckland show relatively settled conditions. The active front that affects the earlier Wave in Christchurch is forecast to have moved offshore to the southeast of the North Island and Auckland will find itself under a region of increasingly high pressure.

Skies should be clear and while there is rain forecast in the Waikato region (S of Auckland) which will likely affect the Rotorua arrivals and departures on Waves 2 and 3 respectively, the Auckland flights should remain clear of the weather.

A fresh southwesterly will be present throughout the event period.
