For the Cross the Ditch event, the official Christchurch to Adelaide route travels via Queenstown. This is not the direct route flown real-world (which is approximately five minutes shorter), however it blends the Christchurch traffic back in with the main wave from Dunedin to Adelaide. It has the added bonus of adding an extra helping of mountain scenery to your flight. Pilots taking part in the event are STRONGLY encouraged to file the event flight plan rather than the real world one. |
